Please join me for a meeting of friends and members of FOR this Monday evening, Nov. 2.
We will meet at 7:00 p.m. at First United Church, 848 Lake Street in Oak Park, IL (get directions). There is a parking lot behind the church off of Kenilworth. There are also spaces reserved for those with limited mobility.
For our gathering, I am planning to lead a discussion on Martin Luther King, Jr. We will be discussing his letter from the Birmingham jail, as well as the image of "the Drum Major" which he used on at least two occasions.
This will be a great opportunity to renew our insights about this great leader and to discuss where we are today in the work of human rights and justice. I will also take just a brief moment to share with you the news from Nyack, NY, and the work that FOR is doing on a national and international level. Please join me for an evening on Martin Luther King.
