Friends,
Don't let the Senate dump the New START treaty! Call your senators today.
Yesterday, the Senate announced it would begin debate on the New START treaty.
The two political parties agreed to waive the full reading of the treaty, but evidently that was the end of the common ground.
Twelve senators, led by the minority whip (Sen. Kyl from AZ), held a news conference to raise the specter of fear and the threat posed by the Russians as well as Korea and Iran as grounds for delaying ratification of the treaty.
Don't let the Senate dump the START treaty. The treaty was sent to the Senate last spring and passed by the Foreign Relations Committee in October. Help to stop the culture of fear.
Call your senators today and tomorrow. You will find the names and office phone numbers for your senators below.
Tell the senators to stay in Washington until they ratify New START, and please do not bring back the Cold War!
