Friends,
The poor are about to get poorer and the rich richer ... again. But it doesn’t have to be that way. The Fellowship of Reconciliation and Witness for Peace are asking our supporters to take action now to stop the Colombian free trade agreement.
Please join our online webinar on Tuesday, May 24th at 7:30pm Central Time to hear directly from a Colombian expert about the effects of the free trade agreement.
Guest speaker Laura Rangel Fonseca works with the Colombian Action Network on Free Trade, the largest coalition of Colombian trade unions and human rights groups opposed to the free trade agreement.
Sign up now for the webinar so that you can learn how to take action against the Colombia free trade agreement.
Labor unions and human rights groups succeeded in stalling this trade agreement in the U.S. congress for the last five years. Now, President Obama has gone back on promises made in 2008, and has vowed to submit it to Congress within a month. Labor unions, environmentalists, and human rights organizations, including FOR, are united in our opposition.
As an anti-militarist organization, FOR is concerned about the increased risk this free trade agreement will bring to those communities and organizations we have accompanied for the past nine years. Please help continue the resistance to this free trade agreement.
