Isaac recently returned to the United States after two years accompanying and living with threatened peace communities and organizations in Colombia. Working with the Fellowship of Reconciliation, Isaac used the tool of accompaniment to nonviolently provide security and make political space for communities and organizations resisting the militarization of their lives and lands.
Isaac, originally from Harrisonburg, Virginia, has been an activist since he first traveled to Colombia in 2002. He has also lived in Jamaica, Northern Ireland, Cambodia, and El Salvador. He has organized around Latin American issues in the United States including labor rights, immigration, military funding and trade agreements. In 2008, he graduated from Goshen College with a BA in Peace, Justice and Conflict Studies and soon after left to Colombia with the Fellowship of Reconciliation.
Please join us tonight or on Thursday for this story of active nonviolence in Colombia! |
