Fellowship of Reconciliation

Friends,

As Barack Obama begins his second term as president, and with new Cabinet appointments in key foreign policy positions, the importance of grassroots action has never been greater. The results of the election raise new challenges and provide new signs of hope.

This coming week, FOR will send peace delegations to Iran and to the Mexico/U.S. border as expressions of our commitment to supporting grassroots nonviolent action to end militarism and violence.

With your help, we can also use strategic nonviolent action to put taxpayer money toward human needs rather than war and occupation. And with this grassroots training, we'll give you the tools to press for an end to the Israeli occupation and to effectively counter the bipartisan calls for military action against Iran.

Grassroots Advocacy Training at AIPAC Exposed

March 2nd, Washington, D.C.

Sliding scale from $40 to $125, or $30 for students

Register for the advocacy training and AIPAC Exposed mobilization

FOR, along with Interfaith Peace-Builders, CODEPINK, the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, and many other groups will gather for Expose AIPAC, a mobilization in Washington:

Expose AIPAC: Say no to a lobby for war"This past year, AIPAC has provided cover for Israel to continue war crimes against Gaza with impunity, ensured the continuation of weapons transfers to Israel and pushed for war on Iran. We need you to join us in Washington D.C. to show the growing opposition to AIPAC’s influence and U.S. complicity in the oppression of Palestinians.

"Last year we united under the banner of Occupy AIPAC, linking the actions of the Israeli Lobby and the popular Occupy protest movement against corporate lobbies. This year, we will unite under the banner of Expose AIPAC to show how AIPAC stands in the way of a foreign policy that could lead to a just peace in the Middle East."

As part of the Expose AIPAC mobilization, Interfaith Peace-Builders and FOR are sponsoring a grassroots advocacy training day, and we hope you'll join us for it! Click here for the current schedule of events. We're offering an entire day of advocacy training for a sliding scale of $40 to $125, and for students it's just $30.

Register now for the training day and Expose AIPAC this March. And please let your friends and colleagues know!

Leila, Ethan, Mark, and the rest of FOR's team

P.S. On Monday, FOR and two dozen other national organizations wrote to President Obama, calling on him to ensure that Iranian civilians are not blocked from accessing food, medicine, and other humanitarian goods under existing U.S. sanctions.
