Fellowship of Reconciliation

Friends,

"Shaping Tomorrow Together" -- that's the theme for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) annual conference this weekend in Washington, D.C.

Register now for Expose AIPAC

Opposing war with Iran

Protesting for a free Palestine

Standing up to AIPAC

For decades, the "tomorrow" AIPAC has been shaping has been one of war, occupation and apartheid at the expense of human rights, justice, and international law. Their tomorrow is a continued push for war with Iran. Their tomorrow means greater U.S. support for Israeli oppression of Palestinians. And their tomorrow means sending even more U.S. weapons abroad while cutting funding for healthcare and education here at home.

Join FOR, Interfaith Peace-Builders, the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, CODEPINK and others this weekend as we build a different tomorrow:

Expose AIPAC Mobilization
Beginning THIS Saturday, March 2
Location: Washington, D.C.

You may participate in some or all of the events -- whatever your schedule permits.

Saturday, March 2: Grassroots advocacy training

8:30 AM, Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church, 900 Massachusetts Ave. NW

With this training, we'll give you the tools to press for an end to the Israeli occupation and effectively counter calls for military action against Iran. Leila Zand, director of the FOR task force on the Middle East, has played a key role in organizing workshops around fighting the threat of war with Iran, and we'd love to see a large contingent of FOR members and supporters at the event.

The grassroots advocacy training day has a registration fee of $40 to $125 (sliding scale, $30 for students). All other Expose AIPAC events on other days are free.

Speakers include Leila Zand, Rebecca Vilkommerson, Medea Benjamin, Josh Reubner, Phyllis Bennis, Robert Naiman, Rev. Carolyn Boyd, Havar, and more!

Learn more and register for the grassroots advocacy training.

Sunday, March 3: Mobilization and street demonstrations

11:00 AM, Outside the AIPAC conference, 9th St. NW & Massachusetts Ave. NW

CODEPINK will be hosting dubka, a flashmob, and greeting AIPAC-goers as they leave the convention center at the end of the day. Come show that the U.S. people demand "Diplomacy, Not War" and an end to U.S. military aid to Israel at a creative protest outside the AIPAC conference.

We need 150 people for an amazing visual/action (nonviolent and non-arrestable) to commit to joining us from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Sign up here to participate in the action.

If you don't wish to participate in the action, you may simply show up to join us in witness.

Monday, March 4: Protesting the AIPAC gala

7:00 PM, Outside the AIPAC conference, 9th St. NW & Massachusetts Ave. NW

Join CODEPINK as we talk to the hundreds of members of Congress going into the gala to show their support for AIPAC. Join us to say no to AIPAC, yes to equality and freedom for Palestinians, yes to peace with Iran. Join us as we demand a new U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East.

No registration is necessary for this event.

Monday and Tuesday, March 4-5: Constituent lobby days

All day at the offices of your members of Congress

During AIPAC's lobby days on Capitol Hill, join the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation to provide a counter-lobby calling for an end to U.S. military aid to Israel. Lobby packets created by the Campaign will be available, and you can read tips from Interfaith Peace-Builders on meeting with your elected officials. Want even more guidance and training? Be sure to attend the grassroots advocacy training day on Saturday!

We hope to see you this weekend in D.C.! And remember that it's always more fun to go with friends, so please share this information on Facebook!
