Los Angeles FOR is sponsoring three events this weekend in honor of the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s letter from the Birmingham jail.

Featuring a keynote presentation with several other panelists on Friday morning, a special film screening of Martin Luther King, Jr. in Palestine on Saturday afternoon, and a conversation between FOR lifetime members, justice-makers, United Methodist pastors, and brothers Philip Lawson and James Lawson on Sunday afternoon. Please join us!

All events will take place at Holman United Methodist Church, 3320 West Adams Blvd. (view directions). You may attend one or all of the events!

Friday, April 12: 8:00 to 11:30 AM -- breakfast and symposium
Featuring a keynote by Rev. James Lawson and panelists from Justice Not Jails, the Black Alliance for Just Immigration, Children Youth and Family Collaborative, LA Black Worker Center, and the Cecil Murray Center for Community Engagement, and moderated by Rev. Byron Williams.
Suggested donation: $10

Saturday, April 13: 3:00 to 6:00 PM -- film screening and discussion
"Martin Luther King in Palestine," featuring Dr. Clayborne Carson and directed by Connie Field.
Suggested donation: $5

Sunday, April 14: 4:00 to 7:00 PM -- discussion
"King at the Intersection of Justice and Equality Today," an afternoon with the Lawson brothers, Rev. James and Rev. Phillip. Moderated by Ange-Marie Hancock of the Center for the Study of Immigrant Integration at USC.
