Fellowship of Reconciliation

Friends,

The Interfaith Peace Walk was founded in 2003, inspired by the Muslim-Jewish Peacewalk initiative launched in Albuquerque, N.M. by FOR members Imam Abdur-Rauf Campos Marquetti and Rabbi Lynn Gottlieb. The Philadelphia initiative is a walking dialogue between Jews, Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Sikhs, Wiccans, Baha'i and others.

Please join us!

10th Annual Philadelphia Interfaith Walk for Peace and Reconciliation
Sunday, April 28: 2:00 to 6:00 PM

  • Beginning at Al Aqsa Islamic Center, 1501 Germantown Avenue (2:00)
  • Continuing to St. Augustine’s Church, 243 North Lawrence Street (3:10)
  • Ending at Congregation Rodeph Shalom, 615 North Broad Street (4:30)

Our theme this year is "Sustainers of the Earth, Sustainers of Each Other, Sustainers of Peace through the Generations." For this year’s tenth anniversary program, Imam Abdur-Rauf and Rabbi Lynn will travel from Albuquerque and Berkeley, California (respectively) to participate with us and celebrate in this continuing process of interfaith dialogue and peace-building.

Our Mission: To facilitate peace, justice and reconciliation by engaging faith groups and other communities in dialogue, reflection, action and an annual Interfaith Peace Walk.

Our Vision: To nurture a transformative process of reflection, relationship-building and action among faith and secular groups working toward peace and justice through periodic dialogues about challenging issues; community service; outreach to religious and ethnic groups experiencing intolerance or persecution; and an annual Interfaith Peace Walk.

We hope to see you there!
