Fellowship of Reconciliation

Dear Friends,

This Friday evening, April 11th, renowned author and peace activist John Dear -- a former executive secretary of the Fellowship of Reconciliation -- will speak in your area. Please join Martha DiGiovanni of Manchester, a former FOR National Council member, and other local peace seekers in conversation with Reverend Dear.

John Dear is outreach coordinator for Pace e Bene Nonviolence Service, which recently launched Campaign Nonviolence (endorsed by FOR) to build a culture of active nonviolence and connect the dots between peace, economic justice, and the environment. Fr. John has organized and participated in nonviolent campaigns for over three decades; been arrested some 75 times in acts of civil disobedience against war and injustice; and is author of more than 30 books.

Friday, April 11, 7:00 - 9:00 PM
Saint Bridget Catholic School
80 Main Street
Manchester, CT 06042

The topics that John Dear will discuss and respond to include:

  • How can we become people of nonviolence and help the world become more nonviolent?
  • What does it mean to be a person of active nonviolence?
  • What is a nonviolent life?

In his new book, The Nonviolent Life, John Dear proposes a simple vision of a spiritually grounded nonviolent life to heal ourselves and transform our culture. The book will be available for sale and signing.

Event free and open to public (free will offering accepted). For more info, contact John Ryan by e-mail or phone at 860-716-3914.
