Global Day of Listening
Honoring Human Rights Day and Malala Yousafzai
Early in the morning Wednesday, Dec. 10 U.S. time

Learn more about joining the call.

We'll be celebrating the words and works of Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani activist for girls' and women's education -- and the youngest-ever recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. She will be awarded the Peace Prize in a ceremony on Wednesday along with Kailash Satyarthi of India.

Teachers and students from around the world will be discussing the impact of Malala's work, how they use Malala's writings in their courses, and the connections between human rights and education.

If you haven't participated in a Global Days of Listening call before, you have two simple options.

  1. If you have Skype, it provides the best option for call quality. You provide your Skype name to the call organizers and they contact you via Skype once the call has begun.
  2. If you don't have Skype or would prefer not to share your Skype name, you can also follow the call through a web-based livestream. The livestream is ad-supported, and will be periodically interrupted with video ads, but will pick up where the call left off following the ad. No advance registration is necessary with the livestream.

This event is sponsored by Global Days of Listening, with the partnership of Afghan Peace Volunteers of the Borderfree Community Centre of Nonviolence in Afghanistan, the Fellowship of Reconciliation, September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows, the Rachel Corrie Foundation for Peace and Justice, Veterans for Peace, and Voices for Creative Nonviolence.
