Fellowship of Reconciliation

Dear Friends and Supporters of FOR,

Happy New Year!

Thanks to your generosity, 2015 was launched on a high note – the matching gift challenge put forth by our National Council at the end of last year was fully met well before the clock struck midnight on December 31st! Because of your support, we are entering this year able to progress our work to organize, train, and grow a diverse movement to end structures of violence, and create peace through the transformative power of nonviolence. Because of you we are entering this monumental year – our Centennial – empowered by your faith in our historic witness and our current work to resource the grassroots to promote racial justice, the elimination of mass incarceration, and the demilitarization of police. Together, we will celebrate our past and go forth.

A hundred years ago this year, in November of 1915, a small group of dedicated and peace-seeking individuals met in Garden City, New York to found the US branch of the Fellowship of Reconciliation. Now, in 2015, we will honor our history of persevering in the way of peace through an incredibly violent century. In the coming eighteen months, we’ll be lifting up our legacy and stepping boldly into our future with a number of special events including a celebration multifaith service and dinner in New York City, the premier of a documentary film, an exhibit based on nearly 100 years of Fellowship magazine, and a national conference. Please be on the lookout for the details of these special events and more to come.

As we enter this historic year, FOR-USA’s National Council, staff, and I want you to know how deeply grateful we are for the many ways in which you make the peace and justice work of the Fellowship of Reconciliation possible. We are because you are - You are FOR!

In peace and gratitude,

Rev. Kristin G. Stoneking, Executive Director FOR-USA
