Fellowship of Reconciliation

Friends,

We are sharing this message with you on behalf of the Nyack NAACP:

Dear Community,

The NAACP needs to send a message and we need your help.   Events around our country and in our own community demand attention and action.  Our Lives Matter.   Our lives, our votes, our jobs and our schools MATTER.

The national president of the NAACP, Cornell William Brooks and state NAACP president, Dr. Hazel N. Dukes have called for an Advocacy Day to occur in conjunction with America’s Journey for Justice. The 860-mile march that began in Selma, AL. in August will conclude in Washington D.C. on September 16, 2015 with an Advocacy Day.

Buses from our region will leave at 4:00am for the trip to Washington DC from 99 Cooper Drive in Nyack, NY.    The cost to reserve your seat is $65.00 per person, payable ASAP.   Appointments are being made with our Senators and Congressional representatives.   They need to hear directly from us.   There is strength in numbers.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. still speaks to us today when he says:   “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”   Please join us in going to Washington.

Please reserve your seat by calling Frances Pratt at 845-358-1497.   We need firm commitments NOW.

Sincerely,
Bryan R Burrell
