Fellowship of Reconciliation

Friends,

Our records show that November 11th and 12th, 1915, is when the conference took place in Garden City, Long Island that birthed the United States branch of the Fellowship of Reconciliation -- FOR-USA is officially 100 years old today!

FOR staff, national council, and centennial committee are basking in the glow from the celebrations over the weekend that launched our centennial year and we're feeling profoundly grateful for all of your support. Whether you traveled to New York in person to attend one or more of the events, tuned in to the livestreaming of the multifaith service at Riverside Church on Saturday, or sent your blessings from afar, we felt the depth and breadth of the spirit that is the fellowship, and we are reinvigorated to go forth.

In the days and weeks to come, we'll be sharing a variety of reflections on the centennial celebrations and this highlight moment in FOR history.

Meanwhile, we invite you to browse our Flickr galleries of photos from the exhibit opening in New York City, the reception in Nyack at national headquarters, and the auction and gala dinner also in New York.

Please remember that the amazing pictorial exhibit of 100 years of poignant FOR memories will be open to the public through the month of November in James Chapel at Union Theological Seminary.

Also, for those of you who attended one or more of the events, we welcome you to take a survey to let us know if you enjoyed yourself and whether you felt that the festivities embodied FOR’s core values, and/or how we can improve upon future events.

Again, thank you for persevering for peace and justice through the way of nonviolence, and for celebrating FOR’s 100 years!

In peace,

Linda E. Kelly
